The Philippines Women’s Team salvaged a measure of pride when Janine Pontejos entered the finals of the Fiba 3×3 World Cup Shoot-Out Contest.
Russia’s Alexandra Stolyar shot a best 7 twos in the final qualifier leg to lead the field. Pontejos and China’s Jiang Jiayin were both tied with 6 twos but the Filipina enters because she shot them in 22 seconds to the latter’s 30 seconds.
Joining Stolyar and Ponetejos in the Shoot-Out Final are Marin Hrvoje of Croatia and Maksim Dybovskii of Russia.
In the finals, the four shooters will attempt 18 shots from four different locations. The player with the most points in the shortest amount of time wins the gold with the second and third best earning a respective silver and bronze.
