Meralco falls to Mono Vampire

At the end of the game, the short-handed line-up hurt as Meralco ran out of steam and fell to Mono Vampire, 100-92, on opening day of the 2019 FIBA Asia Champions Cup at Stadium 29 in Nonthaburi, Thailand yesterday.

Despite missing four key players in the injured Ranidel De Ocampo and
Jared Dillinger and Chris Newsome and Cliff Hodge who were not granted
permission to play as locals, Meralco did well in the first three
periods behind Baser Amer, Anjo Caram, Allen Durham, Reynel Hugnatan,
and Diamond Stone who was a late replacement to Liam McMorrow.

Stone tallied 23 points and eight rebounds while Durham came through
with 20 points and 18 caroms.

From a close 92-89 count, the Mono Vampire imports delivered lethal
baskets to dispose of the Bolts, who’ve been struggling even back
home.
