Blatche: We can get this done

MANILA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers) – With the
Philippines’ collective backs to the wall in terms of Fiba 2019 World
Cup qualification, naturalized player Andray Blatche says that he is
on a mission to strap the country on his big broad shoulders against
Qatar and Kazakhstan.

“It was tough watching the games (against Kazkhstan and Iran) and not
being able to help,” said Blatche. “I knew I could help.”

Regarding the lengthy suspension that derailed the team from its goal,
Blatche said, “What is done is done. We cannot look back at that. We
can only look forward.”

Now on his third coach with Gilas, the 6’11” forward-center says that
he is acclimatizing himself early to Yeng Guiao’s system. “It’s always
a learning process as you have new teammates and not to mention a
different coach. But that is a part of the challenge.”

“With these two games against Qatar and Kazakhstan, I will go out and
give it my best. I feel we have a chance.”
